Accolades for Elvidge

I write this letter to salute Mr. E. Kevin Elvidge, an individual who has been an outstanding civic servant and a positive force on the Newton Town Council for the past 20 years.

I have known Kevin since I moved into Sussex County 38 years ago. During the period from 1999 – 2002, when I was running for/serving on our County’s Board of Chosen Freeholders, I worked close with Kevin to ensure that that the county’s main offices remained centralized in our County Seat of Newton rather than scattered throughout the county.

While I don’t live in Newton — I live in Vernon Township — I realize that what happens in our County Seat of Newton impacts, to some extent, my town of Vernon as well as the other towns in our county.

Everything that I know about Kevin has convinced me that not only is he an outstanding civic servant, but also a good person.

Thanks for your civic service Kevin, and may the Creator bless you as you enter the next phase of your life!

Howard Burrell
