The Byram Township Recreation Department is still accepting applications for its 2018 Byram Royalty Court, which will be held Sunday, July 15 at 3 p.m., at the Byram Township Fire Department on Route 206. Young girls and boys aged 5-7 may participate in the Little Miss/Little Mr. Byram contest, and girls from ages 8-21 are invited to vie for the titles of Young Miss, Junior Miss, and Miss Byram. Royalty Court winners will be honored at Byram Township Day in September, and the young woman named Miss Byram must be available to take part in the “Queen of the Fair” competition during the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show in August. All other members of the Royalty Court are also invited to take part in the festivities during the fair. Applications for all age groups must be returned no later than Sunday, July 8, and can be found online at byramtwp.org/index.php/parks_rec/events#Miss%20Byram%20and%20Royalty%20Court%20Contest. There is a $10 entrance fee per contestant, due at the time of registration. Questions can be directed to Recreation Director Jennifer Kerr at jkerr@byramtwp.org.
