— Alpha Fitness has built the reputation of being an alpha gym in the Newton area. The owners just went one step further in their quest to help perpetuate health and fitness with the opening of A Fresh Smoothie Bar located within the gym and open to the public.

Why add the smoothie bar?

Anthony Freda who co-owns the gym with his wife, Janessa, said, “We are always striving to make Alpha the gym that has it all. Proper nutrition is such an important aspect of health and fitness. As a result, giving people a healthy option inside their own gym is most beneficial! All A Fresh Smoothies are made with all natural, fresh ingredients. We also offer loyalty cards with every purchase.”

Freda said that some of the most popular flavors are Peanut Butter Banana, Chocolate Chip Mint, and Green Pineapple. They are also introducing a Tropical flavor for the summer.

Alpha Fitness has been open for over three-and-a-half years.

“We have had several expansions and additions and are currently involved in another huge expansion at this very moment,” Freda said. “The biggest reward is not only helping so many people in our community better themselves physically and mentally but watching Alpha Fitness become a genuine family for so many people. We are truly the Alpha family.”

To this end, the gym also has apparel available for purchase.

Freda said, “There is nothing more rewarding then seeing people and friends around Newton wearing the Alpha logo.”

Looks can be deceiving and, Freda said, looking at the gym from the outside, many don't realize that it's two levels.

“We have much more to offer than can be seen from the outside,” he said. Also, most importantly for me I want everyone to know that we are not like other gyms. We truly care about each person. We want to know their name, their story, their family, and be a supportive part of their journey.” He added, “Being a privately owned gym is something we take tremendous pride in. At a corporate gym you are a 'member' or a scan card number. At Alpha, you are family.”

Group fitness classes each week are included in memberships.

“Some popular classes include Spin, Kickboxing, Hit & Fit Boxing, Zumba, Hip Hop Dance, Barbell Blast, Yoga, Tabata, Step, and Alpha Bootcamp,” Freda said.

Visit their website for more information and to get your free class pass. The gym also offers a complimentary Child Watch every day of the week.
