NEWTON — Newton High School defeated Lenape Valley Regional High School (Stanhope, N.J.). in varsity baseball on Saturday, April 14, 2018. The final score was 2-1. The game took place at Memory Field in Newton.

Newton scored both runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Newton's starting pitcher Billy Carson struck out two and gave up seven hits in a complete game. Luke Young went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Tom Chamberlain and Ryan Gentile had two hits each for Lenape Valley.

Team records: Lenape Valley Patriots 1-4. Newton Braves 4-1.
