In a democracy, voting is crucial. And, as recent special elections in Pennsylvania, Virginia and elsewhere, every vote counts. Below are essential dates for elections in New Jersey in 2018.

April 11 – Primary – Deadline for Party Affiliation Declaration (Those registered with a party wishing to vote in another party’s primary must change affiliation by this date; unaffiliated voters may declare for a party any time up to and including at the polls on Primary Day.)

May 15 – Primary – Voter Registration deadline

May 29 – Primary – Vote by Mail deadline

June 5 – Primary Elections

October 16 – General Election Voter Registration deadline

October 30 – General Election Vote by Mail deadline

November 6 – Election Day
