I have dry mouth. What can I do to avoid irritating this condition?


Dry mouth can be a condition observed with aging, be caused by medications, or a sign of disease. Here's a few tips to avoid exacerbating this condition:

• Don't smoke tobacco

• Don't drink alcohol

• Drink plenty of water

• Avoid salty or spicy food that can irritate your mouth

• Avoid caffeinated drinks such as tea and coffee

• Moisten dry foods with soup, gravy, or some other kind of sauce
