— Train Creative, a facilitator of creative training experiences and events, has partnered with Summit, NJ-based Care First Training Group to bring comprehensive First Aid and Safe Sitter courses to the Sparta Train Station this spring. Train Creative will offer two Infant, Child and Adult First Aid, CPR and AED classes on March 24 and April 21 at 3pm, as well as a Safe Sitter® course for young teens in grades 6 and older on April 6 at 9am at the Sparta Train Station. “An overwhelming number of parents in the Sparta community have been asking for an infant and child CPR and First Aid class that is local to this area,” said Katelyn Leondi, Director at Train Creative. “Partnering with Care First to bring these life-saving courses to our community was easy decision given the need for them with many young families benefiting from these skills through a local class offering.”

Safe Sitter® Course & Certification

More than 600,000 young teens have graduated from the medically-accurate program which teaches how, why, and where injuries happen so they can be prevented. The Safe Sitter course provides hands-on practice in lifesaving techniques to young teens that are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting so they are equipped with the skills and confidence to act in an emergency. They learn basic first aid and infant and child choking rescue and CPR. Students also receive instruction on how a child’s age affects how to care for them, how to prevent problem behavior, and how to run their own babysitting business.

The Safe Sitter course is being offered during the Sparta School District’s Spring Break. Students who graduate from a Safe Sitter® course receive a completion card demonstrating that they know how to use their skills in situations they encounter. For more information about the Safe Sitter® organization, contact National Headquarters at 317.596.5001 or visit safesitter.org.
