— The Sparta Avenue Stage will begin 2018 by welcoming back two outstanding and iconic performers. On Saturday night, January 20 at 8 PM, the Amazing Kreskin, the quintessential mentalist and showman will be presenting his full evening show in the clubby setting of the 66 seat venue of the Sparta Avenue Stage. Then on Sunday, February 18, Rocco Silano, the international award-winning superstar of magic will be onstage displaying his unique sleight of hand skills to create wonder, surprise, and magic.

Joe Garsetti, co-proprietor of the Sparta Avenue Stage states, “both performers have performed at the stage in the last two years and the shows were sold out…these gentlemen are distantly different-and they are coming back because they had a great time with enthusiastic audiences. This is all possible because of our local community. The energy created between a live performer and his audience is magic in itself-live “performance art” or theater is unlike a TV or DVD experience-especially, since with both performers you may become part of the show.”

The Amazing Kreskin is nothing short of an icon. He is also a true gentleman who during his show will give personal insights and reflections about his 50 plus years in the entertainment industry. He had his own television series for over 5 seasons in the 1970’s. He has written over 20 books and appeared over 88 times on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and recently with Jimmy Fallon and on the Howard Stern Show. In popular culture, his name has been synonymous with thought reading and mentalism. He understands the facets of the human mind and will ask the audience to participate in his mind games. During Saturday’s show, Kreskin will harness the power of the human mind to look for and hopefully find his pay check that will be hidden by members of the audience.

Sparta resident Tom Gibbons said, "Seeing Kreskin perform last year was, well, amazing! In his introductory remarks, he named television personalities he had worked with over the years, including Mike Douglas, which made me think of my friend Woody Frasier (the Producer of the Mike Douglas show). Then, abruptly, Kreskin stopped and stated: "I feel someone here is thinking about an individual who had a relationship with one of the personalities I just mentioned. Is that true?" So, I raised my hand and Kreskin responded: "Are you thinking of Woody Frasier?" And I said: "Yes" ...Now that's amazing!!!”

All tickets for Kreskin are $30 and can be reserved at 973-769-2893 or purchase online at spartastage.com.

Rocco Silano is an internationally renowned magic superstar. His television performances have been featured many times in Italy, France, and China and on live and televised productions of The Masters of Illusions in the U.S. In fact, he is the only American magician to win the prestigious international F.I.S.M. competition twice- the second time for “Most Original Act” and he has been voted “Magician of the Year” nine times by the Academy of Magical Arts. Rocco brings his show to the Sparta Stage Sunday afternoon 4 PM on Feb 18. His show is suitable for all ages and involves crazy prestidigitations not only with traditional cards and coins but also wine, pretzels, women’s make-up and frozen food. Armani style and personal charisma are Rocco’s trademarks and his skillful magic is blended with good-natured fun. Tickets are $15 adults and $10 children and can be reserved by calling 973-769-2893 or purchased online at spartastage.com. After his show, at about 6 PM, Rocco will hold an instructive lecture for magicians only. Please reserve a seat at the lecture by calling 973-769-2893.
