— Newton High School defeated Wallkill Valley Regional High School (Hardyston, N.J.) in boys varsity basketball on Friday, January 5, 2018. The final score was 76-54. The game took place at Newton High School in The Town of Newton, New Jersey.

Newton's Jake Tarabokija scored a game-high seventeen points with seven assists and six rebounds. Jaiden Elliott scored thirteen points and grabbed four rebounds.

Shawn Falk had a team-high 16 points with two 3-pointers for Wallkill Valley. Dylan Harlos scored eleven points with three 3-pointers.

Team records: Newton Braves 7-2. Wallkill Valley Rangers 5-2.
