— Congratulations to Amanda Newell and Samantha Russell for their nominations to the Governor’s School. Amanda will be applying to the School of Science and Samantha will be applying to the Engineering and Technology program.

These intensive three week programs give upcoming high school seniors exposure to college life and to college course work. If accepted into the program, they will spend time in July living on a college campus and learning.

To be considered for these programs you must meet certain criteria:

• A strong interest in the program you are applying for.

• Must stay on campus for the entire three weeks including weekends.

• Must be a top student in his/her class.

Core courses, elective courses, research projects, enrichment activities and guest speakers, what a wonderful opportunity for these students.
