Ruth D. Blessing, 83, of Hackettstown, NJ, was called home by the Lord on December 6, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born in Beemerville, NJ and lived in the Lake Mohawk section of Sparta for over 30 years. She retired to Hernando then Inverness Florida for 20 years before returning to Sparta in 2012. She was a member of the Sparta United Methodist Church for many years and a member of Eastern Star. Ruth was an avid quilter and a member of the quilting community wherever she lived. Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband William P. Blessing in 2001 and by 7 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her devoted children Phyllis Blessing of Andover, Betsy Blessing of Santa Cruz, CA and Bill Blessing and his wife Robbin of Sparta, NJ. Ruth is also survived by her loving grandchildren Michael (Sheri) Caldarella, Christopher Caldarella and great grandchildren; Olivia and Violet Caldarella. Her funeral was entrusted to the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871. A funeral service was held Saturday at Sparta United Methodist Church, 71 South Sparta Ave, Sparta, NJ 07871. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to: Newton Free Clinic, c/o Dr. Jeffrey Liegner, 1 Wilson Dr, Sparta, NJ 07871.
