— Newton-Lenape Valley defeated Pequannock Township High School (Morris County, N.J.) in varsity ice hockey on Saturday, November 25, 2017. The final score was 3-2. The season opener took place at Skylands Ice World in Stockholm, New Jersey.

Andrew Dalessandro scored two goals for Newton-Lenape Valley, both with assists from Liam Cherry. Liam Cherry scored the game winning goal in the third period.

Newton goalkeeper Trey Kaplan blocked 14 shots.

Mike Kretkowski scored two goals for Pequannock, the second on a power play in the third period that tied the game at 2-2.

Pequannock goalkeeper Dylan Knighton blocked 45 shots.
