Amoroso for township committee

It is with great pleasure that I wholeheartedly endorse Emilie 'Lee' Amoroso in her run the Byram Township Council.

As a lifelong Byram resident, Lee has seen both good and bad aspects of the Township over the decades. I had a lengthy conversation with her after she filed to be on the ballot, and we touched on a number of issues. What struck me most was her telling me, "Scott, I'm tired of people endlessly trying to tear Byram apart. This is a great town. I want to be a part of building Byram up." I have an immense amount of respect for Lee's desire to make a positive impact on our Township and its residents by pitching-in and finding solutions to the challenges we face.

Lee is a well-reasoned, positive and proactive individual with an inquisitive nature. She does not assume to be an expert on everything, but instead approaches challenges with an open mind and logical questions before reaching a decision. These are qualities we need on our Council.

For the past 8+ years, I have had the honor of serving on Byram's Council with Marie Raffay. Like many other residents, I was sad to see that Marie chose not to run for a third term. I am convinced, however, that Lee is the right person to step up and fill Marie's seat, knowing that she will work selflessly to make Byram a better place to live, work, and raise a family.

I hope that you will join me on November 7 in voting for Emilie 'Lee' Amoroso as a Byram Township Councilperson.

Scott Olson

Councilperson, Byram Township
