Newton High School defeated Phillipsburg High School ( Warren County, N.J.) in girls varsity soccer on Saturday, October 21, 2017. The final score was 2-1. The Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament, Semifinal Round took place at Newton High School in the Town of Newton, New Jersey.

Kass Wojcik scored the game-winning goal for ninth-seeded Newton. Earlier in the game Kayleigh Furth scored a goal for Newton with an assist by Regan Thiel. Furth also assisted on the game-winning goal.

Newton goalkeeper Karis Steele finished with three saves.

Haley Mitchell scored one goal for 12th-seeded Phillipsburg. Teammate Maddie Mitchell contributed an assist.

Phillipsburg goalkeeper Lauren Flynn finished with thirteen saves.

Team records Newton Braves 16-4. Phillipsburg Stateliners 4-12-1.
